About me

In 1977 my family and I moved to the Texas-Mexican border. Why move to the Texas-Mexican border? It was an easy choice; I feel like Mexican culture is in my soul! As a kid growing up in Dallas, Texas every summer my parents would vacation at South Padre Island, in deep South Texas, and every year we would go for the day to the border town of Matamoros in Tamaulipas, Mexico. I could not get enough! Later, as a young man my friends and I would take several road trips to Mexico and finally in 1977 I made the move to the city of McAllen, a few miles north of the Mexican border. In the forty-five years since, living on the Frontera, travelling in Mexico and taking photos has been my passion. I call my gallery the Taco de Ojo Gallery (literally: taco of the eye, translated as eye candy) because the Mexican culture is food for the eyes. This enduring passion of mine has led me off the beaten path from more well known landmarks, in an effort to capture the spirit of the Mexican people and the traditional village way of life. As you can see I love Mexico and the Mexican people, to me they are indeed Children of God.
